It was a good two hour drive into Oban today and I was too early to check into the hotel so wandered the town. This is one of my favorite towns in Scotland and I meandered to the pier and indulged in a wonderful plate of mussels steamed in garlic and wine sauce and then had a lovely pint of plum porter! Yum! The outdoor eating places on the pier have some great fresh seafood. On a beautiful sunny day it was the perfect place to sit outside and enjoy some local seafood and watch people. I was able to check into the hotel a bit early and then decided I would revisit Ardchattan Priory in later afternoon. There were some photos I needed to retake and it’s a location always worth visiting. By the time I returned to the hotel I was exhausted and knew I needed to be up very early the next morning for a visit to Lismore.
